Natural Wedding Styling with Mediterranean Charm
The wedding decoration reflected the couple’s relaxed approach to their celebration. Rather than elaborate arrangements, the focus was on natural textures, soft colours and thoughtful details that complemented the surroundings of Cortijo El Aguilón.
Round tables dressed in white linen were arranged throughout the garden, paired with wooden cross-back chairs and woven seats. Delicate pink and peach flowers in small glass vases, scattered blooms and simple candles created a romantic yet understated atmosphere.
Above the tables, oversized woven pendant lamps added warmth and a distinctly Mediterranean feel, blending beautifully with the greenery of the Andalusian estate.
One of the most personal elements was the wedding stationery. Each guest’s place setting featured a vintage-inspired botanical card with their handwritten name.
The seating plan, hand-painted by the couple and titled Find Your River, featured colourful illustrations and tables named after rivers. These creative details gave the celebration a distinctive character and made the wedding feel truly personal.
The result was an elegant outdoor wedding in Andalusia where every decorative element felt natural, meaningful and perfectly connected to its surroundings.
An Unexpected Pool Party at Cortijo El Aguilón
One of the most memorable moments of Sara and Charlie’s wedding in Tarifa was something nobody had planned.
It was an exceptionally hot day in Cádiz, and during the cocktail reception, guests spontaneously decided that the swimming pool was a much better place to be.
What began as a traditional wedding cocktail quickly turned into an impromptu pool party, with guests jumping into the water, drinks in hand, enjoying the sunshine and celebrating together.
It was completely unexpected, wonderfully spontaneous and perfectly suited to the couple’s personalities.
The pool, surrounded by the natural beauty of Cortijo El Aguilón, became the centre of one of the day’s most joyful memories.
Sometimes, the moments that make a destination wedding truly unforgettable are the ones that aren’t part of the original plan.
An Outdoor Wedding Reception Under the Andalusian Sky
As the celebration continued, guests gathered around the beautifully styled tables for a relaxed barbecue dinner in the gardens of Cortijo El Aguilón.
The atmosphere was intimate and welcoming, with heartfelt speeches, good food and the kind of easy conversation that comes naturally when everyone feels at home.
As night fell over the Andalusian countryside, the celebration took on a completely different energy.
The evening continued with live entertainment, music and dancing beneath shimmering disco balls suspended between the palm trees.
Sara changed into a second outfit, ready to enjoy the rest of the night, while the dance floor filled with guests celebrating alongside the newlyweds.
The contrast between the understated elegance of the daytime setting and the lively, carefree evening made this outdoor wedding in Tarifa particularly special.
From an intimate ceremony overlooking the Atlantic to a relaxed dinner and a vibrant evening celebration, every part of the day reflected the couple’s wish to enjoy their wedding surrounded by the people they loved.
Planning a Destination Wedding in Tarifa: Behind the Scenes
Organising a destination wedding in Tarifa involves much more than choosing a beautiful venue. Behind every effortless celebration, there is careful planning, supplier coordination and attention to detail.
For Sara and Charlie’s wedding, one of the main logistical challenges was the ceremony location.
The chapel’s elevated position and limited access meant coordinating several shuttle journeys to transport approximately 80 guests safely and comfortably between the ceremony and Cortijo El Aguilón.
With multiple suppliers, different event spaces and the additional challenges of an exceptionally hot day, careful organisation was essential to ensure everything ran smoothly.
As wedding planners in Andalusia, our role at That’s Amore Wedding Planners was to manage these details behind the scenes, allowing the couple and their guests to focus on enjoying the celebration.
And when the unexpected pool party happened? We simply adapted!
For us, this wedding was a perfect example of how thoughtful planning and flexibility can work together to create a celebration that feels completely natural.
